Fort Ross, US-Russian Relations and the Binational Presidential Commission

Hosted by the Fort Ross Conservancy and co-sponsored by Chevron, Transneft and Sovcomflot, this one-day conference complements the Bicentennial Weekend Celebration of Fort Ross (July 28-29, 2012).
The goal of the conference was to highlight Fort Ross and the past, present and future trends of cultural, trade and energy cooperation between Russia and the United States. Two distinct themes were presented: building institutions, with special reference to the Binational Presidential Commission, and the cooperative Pacific dimension of US-Russian relations dating back to the Russian-American Company in the 19th century.
