The Spirit of Geneva: A New Chapter in US-Russian Relations
Just weeks after the Putin-Biden summit, U.S. interagency delegation from the National Security Council, Department of State, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, and Department of Energy has met with their Russian counterparts in Geneva to lay the groundwork for the Strategic Stability Dialogue. Did Russians and Americans manage to find common ground during the first round of negotiations?
The world is closely watching the development of US-Russian relations following the spirit of understanding reached between Presidents Putin and Biden in Geneva. How important are the public expectations during such rounds of diplomatic negotiations?
What is the end goal both parties are working towards? Have specific benchmarks in the negotiations process been clearly stated and how likely is it that those benchmarks will be met?
